Who was sally?

Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz, a life-long resident of Berks County, PA, was the CEO and Vice Chairman of East Penn Manufacturing (Deka Batteries), one of Berks County’s top employers. Her dedication and inspiration to the company for over 30 years has been an important part of the company’s growth and success.

Sally conquered many milestones in her 52 years. Milestones for herself, family, business, community, and throughout the world. She was the daughter of East Penn Manufacturing's Founder and Chairman, DeLight Breidegam, Jr. She was an inspiration to many and her passion for the business created new innovations for the future.

Sally had been recognized throughout the world for her accomplishments. She was well known for her vibrant smile and her loving, passionate personality. She had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved baking, competitive runs, horseback riding, family and many other interests and activities.

On the morning of June 20, 2014, during her regular morning jog, Sally was struck by a motorist, and her journey in life here ended. A company, community, and family devastated by our loss wish to continue the “run” she began and continue her legacy.

The Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization was founded in 2018 to honor her legacy. The Foundation benefits The Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Scholarship Fund at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

What better way to celebrate her love of education than to raise money to help others in furthering theirs.
